Rusks & Hot Chocolate

A favorite food for us here on a cool day in South Africa is Muesli Rusks and Hot Chocolate. Rusks are a double baked bread product. I looked up recipes for them and they are baked, then cut and baked again until they are dry and hard. You would break a tooth trying to eat them without dipping in a hot beverage. You may notice that hot chocolate on the left is darker than the one on the right - Cherrie likes Cadbury hot chocolate with the Nestles, while Dave likes the Nestles milk chocolate plain. We like the Woolworth's Rusks pictured in the cellophane bag, The Muesli Rusks have seeds, nuts and dried fruit in them. They will be something we will miss when we leave South Africa.

Rhino Lion Park 2 July 2017

On Saturday, July 1st we drove out to the Rhino Lion Park to get away from the city. Last time there were no rhinos (we learned they had been poached a couple of years ago😢)but they now have a  young rhino in the nursery area! We also saw lions up close, and some running wildebeest plus lots of other animals. We were only gone from home about 4 hours so it was just a pleasant get-away for the morning. I tried putting the best video of the running wildebeest, but I'll also put a still of them at the end.
